The mission of the Housing Division of RCAA is to improve the housing conditions and promote the improvement of residential infrastructure in our local communities. This includes all aspects of home rehabilitation, from residential accessibility for the mobility impaired to improving energy efficiency, and more. The RCAA Housing Division is a community leader in seeking solutions to the myriad of other housing and infrastructure problems faced by low income citizens and the communities in which they live.
RCAA's Housing Rehabilitation Programs focus primarily on repairs to structural and mechanical elements of single and multi-family dwellings owned or rented by low-income residents throughout Humboldt County. Our staff is also available to assist in developing applications for rehabilitation funding, community housing surveys and program implementation. The Housing Division currently administers Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Programs, HOME Housing Rehabilitation Programs, and CalHOME Housing Rehabilitation Programs in the communities of Eureka, Fortuna, Rio Dell, Blue Lake and the unincorporated areas of the County of Humboldt.
