
OUR HOUSE -- Serving Runaway and Homeless Youth
Our House is a licensed residential facility providing short-term
(up to 14 days) shelter for runaway, homeless, and other youth
in high-risk situations. Our House is staffed 24 hours a day,
365 days per year, by trained residential counselors, youth workers,
and volunteers who provide support and guidance to youth residents.
The Our House program offers the following services:
- 24 hour crisis intervention (444-2273)
- 24-hour per day supervision
- Individualized case planning and case management
- Independent living skills training
- Recreation
- After-care services
Youth are accepted into Our House if they are:
- Between the ages of 10-17
- Not actively drug or alcohol dependent
- Not actively suicidal
- Homeless because they refuse to return home due to abuse
or neglect and they do not meet Child Protective Services eligibility
requirements; temporarily out of home due to family problems
- Willing to participate in the program and follow the program
rules
- Willing to complete a shelter intake assessment
